FAQ

  • What is the healing process like?

The healing process for permanent makeup typically takes 7–14 days, with full results visible in 4–6 weeks. Immediately after the procedure, the area may appear bold, dark, and slightly swollen. As healing begins, minor scabbing or flaking can occur—it’s important not to pick or scratch, as this can affect pigment retention. Around days 8–14, the color may seem faded or patchy, which is completely normal. Over the following weeks, the pigment will gradually soften and even out. A touch-up session is recommended at 6–8 weeks to refine the shape and color. Proper aftercare, will be provided to you during your appointment.

  • What if I just got filler or botox?

Yes, you can get permanent makeup after receiving filler or Botox—but timing is important. You must wait one moth after Filler/Botox before your PMU appointment. This allows time for any swelling, movement, or settling to fully stabilize, ensuring the most accurate and symmetrical results. Always let your artist know about any recent cosmetic treatments so they can plan accordingly and ensure the best outcome. Please not, that if you are in between your first and second session of permanent makeup, we recommend waiting until one month after your second session to receive Fillers or Botox.

It is generally fine, but we recommend getting lip filler first. Filler can slightly stretch the skin, which may affect the appearance and saturation of your lip blush. By getting filler first, your lips will be fully settled and shaped, allowing for more precise and lasting pigment placement.

  • How do I care for my PMU long term?

To keep your permanent makeup looking fresh and vibrant over time, long-term care is important. Always protect the treated area from sun exposure by using SPF or wearing a hat or sunglasses, as UV rays can cause premature fading. Avoid applying exfoliants, retinol, acids, or undergoing chemical peels near the area, as these can break down pigment. It’s also important to let any laser technicians know you have PMU, as certain laser treatments can alter or remove the pigment. Maintaining overall skin health through hydration and a gentle skincare routine will also help preserve your results.

  • Do I have to be 18 years of age or older?

Yes, you must be at least 18 years old to receive permanent makeup at our studio. A valid driver’s license or government issued photo ID will be required at your appointment.

  • Is PMU permanent or semi-permanent?

PMU is a form of tattooing that implants pigment into the skin, but unlike traditional tattoos, the pigment isn’t placed as deep into the dermis. PMU will fade over time because of the depth, pigment type, and your skin’s natural exfoliation, the color fades gradually over time. Most people need touch-ups every 1–2 years to maintain the look.
